This page has things I draw that are not the main webcomic. Generally, these break down into a couple categoris: characters, general practice and studies. Generally when artist publish sketchbooks, they're pretty polished, but I'm reasonably confident saying that most of these will look like crap.

I got the idea for drawing characters from Chris Scheizer. It's not like we're friends, I just talked to him at VanCaf a few years ago. Here is a link to the sketchbooks I'm speaking of. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly, but drawing a character a day helps:

  1. Warm up his drawing hand
  2. Practice drawing different clothing, accessories and props
  3. Challenge him to draw different things

All those reasons work for me, too. But it also helps make characters in novels more concrete in my mind when I'm reading them.

However, I can't seem to do it everyday. Mostly it tends to be during my weekly D&D game.
